AWS News Blog
Amazon CloudFront now supports gRPC API endpoints, providing developers with new capabilities for deploying high-performance, efficient microservices.
- gRPC is a modern, language-agnostic framework for building APIs using Protocol Buffers
- CloudFront offers two key benefits for gRPC endpoints:
- Reduced latency through global edge locations
- Enhanced security with traffic encryption and DDoS protection
- Enables low-latency communication and real-time data streaming
- Supports HTTP/2 and requires minimal configuration to enable
- Available across 600+ CloudFront edge locations at no additional cost
The new feature allows developers to easily deploy gRPC services with improved performance and security through CloudFront.
