Author AWS CloudFormation Hooks using the CloudFormation Guard domain specific language

News

AWS CloudFormation Hooks now supports authoring hooks using the CloudFormation Guard domain-specific language, simplifying the process of creating custom infrastructure validation rules.

  • Allows customers to use Guard rules to inspect resource configurations before CloudFormation stack operations
  • Hooks can block non-compliant configurations or provide warnings
  • Rules can be stored as S3 objects and referenced in hook configurations
  • Eliminates the need to write hooks using programming languages
  • Available at no additional charge in all AWS Commercial Regions

This update provides an easier way to extend existing Guard rules for static template validation and implement custom infrastructure compliance checks.
