AWS CloudFormation Hooks now support custom AWS Lambda functions, providing a new way to proactively evaluate resource configurations before provisioning.
- Customers can now point to a Lambda function in their account to provide custom validation logic
- Simplifies hook authoring by eliminating the need to use CloudFormation CLI
- Allows direct editing of Lambda functions without reconfiguring hooks
- No additional charge for the Lambda hook feature (only standard Lambda usage costs apply)
- Available in all AWS Commercial Regions
This update provides more flexibility for users to implement custom validation and configuration checks in their CloudFormation deployments using Lambda functions.
