Introducing AWS CloudFormation Hooks invoked via AWS Cloud Control API (CCAPI)

DevOps & Developer Productivity Blog

AWS has introduced CloudFormation Hooks integration with the AWS Cloud Control API (CCAPI), enabling resource configuration validation across different infrastructure-as-code platforms.

  • Hooks can now be configured to work with CloudFormation and CCAPI simultaneously
  • Uses AWS CloudFormation Guard for policy validation
  • Supports enforcing security best practices and organizational policies
  • Enables validation across platforms like CloudFormation, Terraform, and Pulumi
  • Demonstrates validation using AWS CLI and Terraform with a specific S3 bucket versioning example

The integration allows developers to implement consistent resource validation and compliance checks across different infrastructure deployment methods, enhancing security and governance.
