AWS Lambda adds application performance monitoring (APM) for Java and .NET runtimes via Application Signals

AWS Lambda has expanded its Application Performance Monitoring (APM) capabilities by adding support for Java and .NET managed runtimes through Amazon CloudWatch Application Signals.

  • Supports Java 11, 17, 21, and .NET 8 runtimes
  • Provides pre-built dashboards for key metrics like throughput, availability, latency, and errors
  • Offers correlated traces and dependency interactions
  • Requires no manual instrumentation or code changes
  • Can be enabled with a single click in the Lambda console

The feature is available in all commercial AWS Regions and offers a cost-effective monitoring solution for serverless applications, enabling developers to easily track and troubleshoot performance.
