AWS Outposts now supports booting Amazon EC2 instances from external storage arrays

AWS has expanded Outposts functionality to support booting Amazon EC2 instances using external storage arrays from NetApp and Pure Storage.
- Supports booting from third-party storage arrays with iSCSI SAN and LocalBoot options
- Compatible with both iSCSI and NVMe-over-TCP protocols
- Enables customers to leverage existing on-premises storage investments
- Provides centralized boot volume management
- Available on Outposts 2U servers and Outposts racks at no additional charge
This enhancement offers customers greater flexibility in storage management and allows them to use enterprise storage arrays for boot and data volumes while maintaining cloud operational capabilities.
