Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling (ASG) now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), offering enhanced networking capabilities for cloud applications.

  • Enables dual-stack configuration with both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity
  • Provides virtually unlimited IP address scaling for applications
  • Allows assignment of contiguous IP ranges to microservices
  • Supports gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6
  • Available in most commercial AWS regions and GovCloud regions

This update helps customers overcome IPv4 address limitations and provides more flexible networking options for cloud infrastructure.
