AWS Direct Connect now supports BGP route visibility on Virtual Interfaces

AWS Direct Connect now provides Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) route visibility for monitoring routes exchanged between AWS and on-premises routers.

  • View accepted and advertised routes across private, transit, and public virtual interfaces
  • Access route details including prefix, AS path, BGP community values, and timestamps
  • Filter routes by prefix, AS path, community, or address family for quick identification
  • Available via Direct Connect console or ListVirtualInterfaceRoutes API action
  • Supports troubleshooting, route propagation verification, and hybrid network monitoring
  • Available in all AWS commercial Regions and AWS China Regions

This feature enhances network visibility for managing complex multi-region architectures and diagnosing routing issues.
